She interned under Larry Forgione and then at several restaurants in New York France and Los Angeles which included Guy Savoy's La Butte Chaillot. In the end, she was the head chef of Butter. Guarnaschelli was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America in 2007. The contestant was Cat Cora at the Farmers Market Battle of 2007 and was the winner. Since then, she has made appearances at the side as guest judges. She also was a contestant on The Next Iron Chef Season Four, which she won in 2011. she placed third. Additionally, she participated on The Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast and was a loser.
